Self affirmations are positive statements that can help you channel mental strength, and can help you mentally overcome challenging thoughts and fears. They can serve as a daily inspiration or a reminder for yourself.
They have very powerful way of changing your negative mentality into self confidence, hope and reassurance.
Repeating self affirmations daily can take control over the “reward circuits” in our brains - the ventral striatum (VS) & ventromedial prefrontal cortex (VMPFC)- and they can help to override the negative energy.
Using Self-Affirmations increases activity in the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) and posterior cingulate (PCC), these areas of the brain are connected with your self-related processing...which acts like an emotional buffer to any painful, negative, or threatening information that enters your brain.
These positive thoughts help to re-program our subconscious mind, and help us create and visualize a reality in which we desire.
Affirmations act in a similar way to “The Law of Attraction”. The notion of sending out good vibrations into the world, and in turn, the universe bringing it all back to you.
How do you write an affirmation?
Effective Affirmations are typically written in First Person. And, you also want to make sure they are written in present tense!
Begin your self-affirmations with “I” or “I am....” Now, your statement has identity and can be personalized to you! Identity statements are powerful motivators for self-change.
Here are some examples:
“I am strong and independent”.
“I am ready to become the person I want to be”.
“I feel great when I make healthy choices”.
“I love group training”... etc
Why should we write self-affirmations?
They help to rewire the subconscious mind. And, in turn, this will help you to believe in yourself and your deepest desires.
Practice daily and become the best version of yourself, by creating a mindset fit for success! Power your mind with positive vibrations!
